Are you interested in a career in the football industry? If so, come and study with Tranmere Rovers Football Club in 2023/24.

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to be able to offer an exciting two-year Foundation Degree to those who wish to pursue a career in the sporting industry and gain a university-level qualification at a professional Football Club. 

Delivered in partnership with the University of South Wales, all lectures, seminars and tutorials are delivered in a supportive and inspirational environment from Tranmere Rovers via online materials. Alongside the academic element of the course, students will complete up to 200 hours of work-based coaching within Tranmere Rovers in the Community, Local Junior Football Clubs, Primary and Secondary Schools.

DEVELOP YOUR COACHING SKILLS THROUGH PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE

The variety of experiences that the course provides will enable students to develop all the necessary skills, qualities and characteristics to work within professional Football Clubs, Community Sports departments and National Governing Bodies.

Year 1

- Football Event Management
- Academic Research and Professional Skills
- Introduction to Sports Development
- Introduction to Sports Science for Football
- Football Coaching: Theory to Practice (English-based students)
- Technical Planning and Reflective Practice in Football (English-based students)
- Football Coaching: Young Performers (Welsh-based students)

Year 2

- Football in Society
- Project Operations Management
- Youth Football Coaching
- PE and School Sport
- Sport Placement

KEY DETAILS:

As part of a partnership with the University of South Wales, all students will be enrolled at the university providing access to the university's online library, blackboard and learning materials.

Academic Qualification

Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development

Associated Costs

- Full-time UK and EU: £8,000 per year
- Full-time International: £12,300 per year
- Students can apply for finance
- Plus £120 for compulsory sports kit
- Travel to residential - Students will have to fund the cost of travel to the residential elements of the course at USW. Costs vary, depending on location

Prerequisites to Apply

- A minimum of 64 UCAS points
- Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- A minimum of three GCSE’s, including English and Maths
